12.0:1 is a little high for street machines. Probably for the quads

You are talking about the 398cc machine. However, I'm talking about the 498cc machine, due to be expected.

European dealers are already ordering them: Belgium ordered 20 and in the Netherlands they ordered 2, just to see what it was like.

this supposed 450 DRZ is going to be a dirtbike or a street bike or will it come in 2 diff. models, like how things are now.

Also the compression is lower then the bikes now. 12.2 is the compression rate for the E, 12.0 is a little lower. Isn't that a bad thing.

But that's the original question for the topic. I have heard that the new DRZ is based upon the engine of the RMZ450 BUT it is a five speed engine (unfortunately not six).

Wasn't the DRZ400 engine originally build in to the LTZ? Isn't this the reason for the fragile magnesium side covers which we have in our DRZ400's?

the drz existed long befroe the ltz.

drz started in 00.ltz in 03.

the drz covers are no more fragile than any other bike.the stator cover just sticks out farther becuase of the giant stator,flywheel and starter clutch.
