cam mods

Recommended Posts

Hi

I am new here and i just want to be sure about a thing that i eared before.

I eared that if you was changing intake cams on a z 400 for a hot cam that you could put the old intake cam that you already change a the exhaust cam place and it will be better than a exhaust cam.

Do i dream about that or its true

Thanks for answer and sorry for my little poor english

you also lose the auto decompression, right?

here are some cam specs from the yahoo drz group, it's not obvious to me the intake moved to exhaust is better. The lift is greater, but duration shorter

Clearly the E cams are better than the S

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lift and duration for various cams for DRZ400 engine

S&SM Int. .334 lift 227 dur Exh. .323 lift 243 dur

E&K Int. .351 lift 227 dur Exh. .366 lift 243 dur

yosh Int. .354 lift 236 dur Exh. .366 lift 242 dur

HC stage 1 (new) Int. .358 lift 238 dur Exh. .358 lift 238 dur

HC stage 2(was stage 1) Int. .377 lift 243 dur Exh. .377 lift 243 dur
