Converting 06 YZ250F to trails version

Recommended Posts

Howzit,

My bike is used for trails riding more than anything else. Don't see the point of trading for WR and loosing truck loads of $$$$$ Looking to make some modifications to make it less snappy and a bit more pleasant to ride in the bush. Here' what's been suggested:-

Flywheel weight

Revalve suspension

Rekulse auto clutch

Barkbusters and bash plates/radiator guards

Any thoughts from your experiences?

Many thanks fellas

You can also mellow out the power curve a little using the WR's exhaust cam.

For me it is so much easier to ride if you stay out of first gear unless you really need it. It is great for the woods with brush gaurds and a little suspension work

Go to a 13/50 sprocket or 14/53 sprocket with a 116 link chain. The latter will give you a slighty longer wheelbase for more stability and longer chain and sprocket life, and will let you use 2nd more. I don"t use any flywheel weghts. Power now will give more low end grunt. In the rocks I install a Revloc clutch, the bike will climb anything as long as there is some traction. In the sand stock clutch is fine.
