Honda weight

Can someone please tell me why the 2005 and 2006 WR450 is about 10 pounds less than the Honda 450x? Dry weight is about 245 vs 255.

The Honda has 10 extra pounds of reliability.

Published dry weights are pure fantasy material.

Get a good bathroom scale and a piece of 2x4.

Go to the local Honda and Yamaha store(s).

Put the rear tire of each bike on the 2x4 and weigh the front tire.

Then switch the 2x4 and scale.

Add the numbers. Then you have reality.

It might open your eyes a little...

Factory published weights are LIES!!! Both bikes weigh the same, 259 pounds without gas but all other fluids.

As published in Dirt Bike March 2006, also known as curb weight. One of the things published in mags that seem real to me.

I thought "dry weight" was the theoretical number that came out of a CAD program in the initial design before all revisions and prototypes were ironed out. Must be true since I read it somewhere...

Put some helium in the tires:) All kidding aside, there is not much of a weight difference between the CRFX and the WR. It is easy to scrub some weight off the CRFX. Also, it feels lighter and better balanced to me than the WR but that's just me. The WR feels top heavy to me like my XR. FWIW, according to the loading dock scale at work, my CRFX weighs 258# ready to ride full tank. My XR4 is 297# same scale.
