Hangover Scramble 2007

Recommended Posts

Joe's pictures are from the 2004 Hangover at Longview MX. That was a great race that saw me falling down over a hundred times in the slime. It is too bad that the race was pulled from Longview and given to Waushougal. Waushogal is a great track...but with the combination of hills and the wet, a flat terrain like Longview works better in the winter.

Post a link??? 2004 HO was at Washougal. That was the year is snowed.

Sorry Joe. I missed it by one. The race at Longview was Jan 1 2005. I had to go look at my T shirt I got there. But the pics of your wife were at Longview MX. The rock face and powerlines in the distance are right out front of the bark shreaders.

I think I got a pic of everyone that raced unless it was the moto I was in;) You can expect to see plenty of pictures from HO 2007 posted as well. Also, I am talking with one of the magazines,,, sounds like they are coming out.

Does JC club follow NMA rules allowing the 250F fourstrokes to run in the 200CC class?

mx813

I'm 90% sure they do, I ran my 230 in the 200 class this year, and I'm certain I lined up next to a few 250's.

I'm thinking the hills won't be a big deal if it stays somewhat frozen, at least then there's some traction, ice studs make the Hangover much easier going.

does anyone no what the track conditions are and what the weather is supposed to be like.

I was out there Friday laying out the course. It is slick. The weather is a toss up right now. The course will run up top by the power lines, through part of the track, and down into the big grass field.

A few pictures from Friday.

I read that but I guess I didn't believe it. Why no +30 class? Are all 40 Plus-ers eligible for the 40 class? In other words, what constitutes Amateur (is it just a non-paying class)?

So. How do you put studs in a tire?

I am sorry, I don't know. You could shoot an email Bill Hutchens or give him a call. Also, you could ask Eric Peris the club president. Their contact info is here:

I can tell you these are the same classes that were ranat the 2006 HO. The Evolution and vintage classes were added for 2007. Results from last year are here: http://www.tripleateam.com/dirt/v/events/2006/hangoverscramble2006/results/

Some guys use the ice tires with the studs in them and some simply screw in short screws. I did not run studs last year and found myself on the ground a lot. One of the large water holes took me out on the 3rd lap. I do not expect to see any water holes this year:) but it is going to be slick so studs will help. Some of the guys say it is night and day difference.
