NEW KTM 690 supermoto

Why do they call these things (this and the 950sm) supermotard bikes? I could not see taking one of them off the doubles on a SM track. Do they think anything with 17" spoke wheels and a liscense plate is a SM bike?

very ugly, it looks like its out of that "demolition man" movie with sylvester stallone. it looks fun to ride though

Dropping that bike and tearing off the plastic would be a blessing.

Take it off!

There is a scene in the movie Beatlejuice where the couple stretch out their noses to haunt the new residents. that is what the front number plate / fender looks like to me.

I dont think any of you old guys will like it. As for me, I think it looks really cool. Maybe some new pipes because the stockers never look good. Other than that, I think it looks really cool. Weird, yes, but cool.

This is NOT meant to be a race bike. It is the replacement for the 625 I believe and it is a street tard aka Hooligan bike. I think putting a better fender and regulat number plate with headlight will help a bunch. I bet it is a riot on the street.

I ran the bike through a 1000 turns last Sunday following a GS and an XR650 (motard and built). I have been riding a GS and a built DR650 both of which I can run into a turn hard and fast. The 690 is so smooth that I think I'm carrying more speed in and having my trouble getting out. I adjusted the rebound a few clicks and sometimes it worked and others it still felt heavy.

I'm sure once I figure out the 17 front end and find more power--I ran along the XR650 until 93MPG and then he slowly started pulling me (gearing, pipes, lose some lb's??).

The bike is far more of a technical bike than my others--but I was hoping out of the gate I would be performing at or near my level sooner. Time will tell and if I need to upgrade suspension (Ohlines and precision concepts) and lighten it up with better pipes--so be it.

i dont like the front fender or how the front end all together sticks up so high, and i dont like the exhaust cans.

well i have one right now... all i can say is that. the beauty starts when you ride on it. i'm still smiling everytime i ride.
