Vapor install on DRZ S

Recommended Posts

rec'd the Vapor kit and the magnetic bolts they provide won't work with my setup. The bolts stick out too far and hit the fork when the wheel turns. Are you guys JB welding yours to the rotor? Are you rebalancing your wheel afterward? Won't that cause the wheel to be out of balanced? also, my DRZ has the larger rotor and uses the stock brake caliper with an adapter. I don't think the sensor will fit where Trailtech suggest. Anyone have any pics of their install on their DRZ S model?

Thanks.

On my '05 SM I tried the magnetic rotor bolt, but it was too far away from the pickup. I glued the magnetic button on the rotor and it works great now.

I am almost finished with a stainless steel dash mount for the vapor, light pod and ignition switch.

I'll post up with pics when it's complete.

You guys are having to glue the magnet to your brake rotor? I'm about to buy one of these things, partly due to having so much speedometer error when I swap from S to SM wheels... but if the magnet stays with the brake rotor, I guess I'll need a second magnet for my second wheel.

Is this just a standard magnet? Anyone got a pic of one mounted?

You get three with the kit, at least one is a CSK type to fit in the existing disc bolt hole.

Didnt have any trouble mounting the magnet or the sensor, just drilled a small hole in the caliper bracket for a screw, I'll see if I can get a decent picture but its 10.30pm here.

If you are using a larger dics the bolts are still in the same place with respect to the stock caliper bracket so it shouldn't be a problem:excuseme:
