I'm advertising my '05 250 SX in the classifieds section and I got an email from a guy written in very broken english saying he wanted to buy it. He said his "client" would send me a check for twice the amount I'm asking for "debts" that his "client" owed him. Then I was supposed to give him half back and he'd pick up the bike. He would'nt give me a name, address or phone number and didn't even want a picture or to come see my bike. I did some home work and found its a scam where they mail you a bogus cashiers check which your bank will deposit in your account, but once they find out its bogus they will hold you accountable for the funds. This guys email was Ericq1981@yahoo.com Once I told him I thought it was a scam and I'd accept cash only, he bugged off and I haven't heard from him since. Has anyone else encountered this? I always string these guys along. I have them send a check and then wait a bit. They get all lathered up. I tell them the bank doesn't think the check is good. They get back and say sure it is just cash it. They then get threatening like they are going to report you to the FBI, blah blah blah. Finally they give up.

I think we should all do this for two reasons:

1. It draws on their time and resources preventing them from scamming someone who is not in the know about these scams.

2. If they keep hitting "dry holes" after all their effort maybe they will give up on the scam all together. Of course they will probably move on to some other scam.

Yeah, sort of a shame, I was hoping to get his check, the last one I got was a hoot. The bank it was drawn on was tripping over itself when I called them about it. It had all valid information, but the check was a fraud, it had printed on it in tiny letters, not valid for less than $150,000.

Jerk offs.

I just got an e-mail from hispanic1981 about my 06 kx250f for sale. frekin idiots. I knew it was a scam from the stupid email he sent:

hello sir,good day to you and compliment of the season,i saw the advart of your bike and i m highly interested in buying from you,i just got a new appointment as a PRO of a company and i will be needing the bike for my officail works ,so if everything of describe about it is real,get back to me thur my private email on ericq1981@yahoo.com with the final price u wish to sell ,i will be looking forward to hearing from you,eric

This clown actually sent me a check after I made it perfectly clear I would only accept cash. I sold the bike two weeks ago and replied to his email that the bike was sold, so he sends me a check anyways. I wonder if its worth giving to the bank and giving them his email address so maybe someone does something about it.

This idiot sent me a fake check after I kept ignoring his emails. Here's his latest. What an idiot. If you get any emails from ericq1981@yahoo.com, i suggest you put him on a block list.

this same guy tried to do this to me he sent me a check and i got it and it was for 7000 and the bike was only 4500, he made up this story about how his wife and son got in an accident and he sent me pictures of a car smashed and a little kid with his face all burnt and his wife in a hospital bed. he told me to wire him 2500 dollars so he can save his kid and wife. The pictures were off google and yahoo, just delete emails from this email address

I just got some emails from this same clown for my truck from the ad ihere in TT. What should I do so that he doesnt keep leading people on or worse taking their money? I just sent him some pics before I found this thread. Thanks for starting this thread, I tried to look his name up but it wasnt on the member list. Good on you guys for keeping us updated on these jokers.?
