yz80 carb vs bbr carb whats better.

just had my yz 80 carb installed kinda of having doubts wondering if anybody has run both carbs want best performance least upkeep. thanx:confused:

Do you have the carb jetted right? Have you done the air box mods?

I like the big BBR carb. Just bolt it on, no rejet required (but I also got the cam, big bore kit, Big Gun exhaust, airbox mod and at 4500-10,000 ft).

the only mod for airbox i have done is bbr air filter have the bbr pipe also

I have heard the BBR carb isn't as good because it is a carb used off a really old bike, where as the yz carb will be newer and more updated.

When the yz carb is correctly jetted, and set up, I believe that will be a better carb. This takes allot of time, and BBR is a bolt on.

The BBR carburetor is the exact same as the Honda XR200 Carb. It's the same Carb. I dont understand what you mean by it came off an old bike??

The XR200 has been virtually unchanged (besides the dual carb thing in '84-85 and the lower hieght in 1991) since the early '80s. To my knowledge that is what is meant by it came off an old bike.

Last I checked, carb's have always used the same principle all the way back to Henry Ford's carbs-atomize fuel in proper ratio with air, and deliver them to the combustion chamber.? I am unsure about what "updates" can be put on a carb????

I have the BBR mounted on a 125 motor, with exhaust and airbox mods performed, and it made a huge difference in response and overall power, but did take some jetting/needle adjustments. The BBR carb kit IS a brand new carb in the package, not something from the junkyard, in case anyone is confused.
