Cincinnati area woods/trail riders?

Recommended Posts

Mason here. Currently faced with some issues as you can see from my signature! Me and my dad mainly ride at Haspin, though we rode at Big Rock a couple times, and enjoyed it. Lots of fun to be had around these parts. Hopefully we will be able to hook up with some TT'ers sometime!

We will have to work out a spring ride at Haspin over the winter months. Most of my riding will be spur of the moment, for now, depending on weather. Mainly temperature; The snow and mud don't bother me. Haspin would be great for a group ride. Lots of room, fishing, camping, etc.. It's easier for me if I can involve the whole family. A cook-out would be nice. But in the mean time, all it takes is the threat of a good time to get me to load up!!!!!!!!! It was interesting to see how close we all are to each other. Thumper Talk is way cool:thumbsup:

I have ridden a few hare scrambles down there. They always had a good layout.I remember one year they let us do a parade lap through town,we had a police escort it was cool.I still have the plaque I got fourth in 250 class 7th overall it was the haloween 100 around 1990.

I recently went down there ,they still had the arrows from a race up,it was fun following them. I went down there with a few guys who are beginners,so following the arrows made it easy to find some body who gets left behind.

I have mostly rode motocross the past few years but riding down there gave me the urge to do a few harescrambles next year.

I would definitely be up to ride at haspin if it is over forty and is some what dry,it gets very greasy down there when wet.

HuskyRDR- I've been through Harveysburg a bazillion times and plan to boat Ceaser Creek some this summer with newly acquired Maxum boat. I have always wanted to ride down there. I know guys who rode the valley/lake prior to the flooding (yeh I'm old-45yrs). They said it was awesome riding right up to the time they flooded it. I ride year round too so PM sometime when you could show me around some of the local terrain. I'm on a EXC300 with a tag. Will be down next two weeks for hernia surgury but then hopefully back in action. Live northwest of Dayton in a burg called Laura.

Hey JSV, do you dual sport ride?

No,but I have several friends who ride the renfro valley dual sport and one in ohio. I'm good for 50 to 75 miles of riding. These guys bust out 100 to 125 the first day and 75 to a 100 the second. They always bust my balls about not going. Lynville is pretty cool, tight trails and challenging. I've heard of that campground that holds that harescramble in Lynnville. Also you camp out and ride too.

Ya, Renfro DS is a blast! The advanced sections aren't for the faint at heart.

Yea, thats the way I like it, if its not challenging why bother. I ride with guys who have that mentality and some who are just worried about some of the places I take them Thats their expression. I try to get them mentally prepared for an all day adventure and excursion. Especially after driving 3 hrs one way. The nastier stuff makes you a better rider. By the way Jeff where do ride?

On the weekends when I'm not racing GNCC's I normally hit up one of the places in the DB forest. I have a route that starts at Natural Bridge state park and runs all the way to Jellico TN that uses trails and forestry roads that is alot of fun.

Wilmington, Ohio. About 30-35 minutes from you I think. We should hook up and go riding sometime. I'm about like you. I enjoy the tracks and all, but the trails and hills are where it's at for me.

My bike is still down. Parts should be in Weds, but it won't be done. I'm having Kirk split the cases and rebuild crank. Then I'll finish the rest.
