Wiseco vs Vertex

Recommended Posts

What kind of experience have folks had with these?

I've been of the school of thought that a forged piston was superior to a cast.

Vertex claims to be gravity cast while Wiseco are forged.

All Vertex Four Stroke Pistons are Forged. Only the Two Stroke Vertex are Casting's

Chris has been using the single ring Wiseco race piston in both the stock bore and 2mm over this year in his YZ250F.

We have had great service from both combinations and would have to say this is the best performance/durability upgrade you can make for the money.

Also check out the new Ti one piece valves. We have over 45 hours on the Fi bike and the valves have stayed in spec from the original installation. It is nice having the performace of the Ti valves and the piece of mind that they are one piece and much less prone to failure.

Wiseco products are top shelf and their customer service is great..can't go wrong with any of the Wiseco parts.

What are common top end rebuild intervals?

At this point I don't mind, it's been a year, and the performance from it is outstanding. I wouldn't mind buying it again if it went out in the next couple of months (which I highly doubt, still pulls strong)
