if I remember correctly, this same thing (smj down) happened last year about this time. anyone else remember>

I've been on smj probly since aug '05 and dont remember this happening. I was talking to Keithwalker this evening and he said smj had been hacked into before and they lost everything. They restarted from a blank site. That would suck. ?

it's been at least 24hrs and it's still down. i feel the we should raise the threatcon level to red and scramble f-16's on all borders and major cities. this has to be a terroist plot. maybe retribution for stringing up saddam? ooohhhh, you evil bastards! i see a pre-emptive strike coming. did you know dubbya is a SMJ fan?

Alright guys, remember that thread about how many times a day do you check SMJ? Well, I have to change my answer. I originally figured 5-8 times a day, but now I will have to say 30 or so! I can't believe how frustrating it is not being able to log on to our beloved SMJ.?

Until later,

Dan

server crash, power outage in the area the server is located in, database problems, forum update that didn't go too well and screwed things up (a regular update isn't supposed to take 2 days so something probably went wrong), pulling the plug on the site because bills haven't been paid altough i don't think that's the case, hackers that took on the server and started deleting stuff at random,...

restarting from a blank site is pretty extreme and in some cases impossible, usualy a hosting service includes the creation of backups of the database every chosen period of time, so unless they don't make backups of the SMJ database they can't just lose everything.

going cold turkey right now?
