Update re:my thread " Is the 250x right for me?"

Well i went down with the cash to pick up my new 2006 250X, and while going through the dudes paperwork i find that it is a 2005! , well I put the deal on hold so I can do some more research on 05's.

Is it still worth it? 4K for and unriden 2005 250X, the bike is emaculate, and i know he hasnt riden it more than 40 miles, but I dont want to deal/worrie about the valve issues the 05's have. I see the 06's were corected of the short valve life issue.

The bike has sat for almost a year unriden, it does fire right up 1st kick though. It was stored without fuel in it.

some help w/ this please!?

I have a '04 and race it, i have yet to have the 'valve' issue.

If its in that good of shape I think it is an ok deal. I know a guy that sold a used 04 for 3k.

Right now Im trying to get him to come down on the price, I will still pick it up, just sucks thinking Im going to buy an 06 and finding out its an 05, the price must be LOWERED!?

It did fire without and problem and rode around just fine.

the first thing I look at on a used bike is when you get there reach over and feel the rad's, cyl, and case. If they are warm that means he has warmed it up before you got there. If thats the case be wary, it may not start as easy when you get it home.
