Dt 200

Recommended Posts

Hi i am wanting to purchase a new bike and am considering a two-stroke. However i dont want a motocrosser. I would like something along the lines of a late 80's to early 90's dt200 or..... Can someone give me some ideas and tips for the ideal off road twostroke machine?

Ditto what foots said. KDX's are great bikes!

I've ridden my nephew's '93 KDX200 quite a bit, and I'm very surprised how good it is, especially for a 14 year old bike. It has a Pro-Circuit pipe & silencer, the airbox lid removed, and it shreds!

I have a 94 DT200R, and my friends KDX is almost identical to it. The only difference is the DT is peakier, and I dont have to mix my gas! Both are good bikes, mine went 12 years on the the OEM top end and was still going strong!!

I got a dt200 95 model what a great bike its been, only problem i had was the throttle getting a little stuck, so had to clean the carby out and that was it.

Runs great though up really steep technical hills its a little tricky.

Now for the next question. Has anyone had experience with an 88 dt200? How do they differ from the 90 bike?

i own a dt200 87' it is the same with 84'-88' models.

the 90s dt engine is completely different with the 80s engine.

i have many parts for sale if you want from the dt200
