Any one using larger than 170 main?

Recommended Posts

i just re-jetted my bike. the stocker was a 142 and i thought putting in the 170 was a huge change. when i hear jets being 180+, it just amazes me:crazy:

Krannie with the stuff you've got on your bike you possibly could go bigger.

I'm at 170 but with a stock header and an R muffler the Yoshi you have should flow pretty well.

I always jet the main so it goes good up top and makes the upper mid go spako.

Krannie, get this:

The 07 JD kit for the R has a 190(!!!) main jet included and recommended.

Wow. I 'm really happy with how my R runs with stock jetting other than a 45 pilot, but just because JD tests everything so thoroughly when the weather breaks and I can put som serious time on this bike I just might buy his kit and see how it goes.

JD said that the main with his needle wound up being a lot bigger than he would've thought, but the results were outstanding.

With all the goodies on your bike I wouldn't hesitate to go bigger at all. Doug

Aussie slang for spastic going off, going sik.

Actually i had my R at 172 with a 500 kit in it and it was a little flat but a 178 woke it up up top and it went spako mate.

172?

175?

My R cam seems to want more juice on top....

Can you believe I run a 165 main... (R cam...etc.etc)?! ...it's one of the reasons I could race a 9lap, 9mile course with no pit stops (with a 3.2G IMS). SHhhhhh... it's a secret! :applause:
