RACK recommendation for DRZ400E ???

Recommended Posts

hey fans

I know a lot of people love the Promoto Billet racks for all kinds of bikes... honda xr's, DRZ's, etc but they are stinkin' expensive!!! Can you tell me what you found that seems to work well, and a part num and/or source would be very helpful.

I found a seller on Ebay that fabs and aluminum rack that looks good, but so far I have not found anyone that actually has one and can speak to it. I think the seller is Spruce Goose.... What about the OEM rack?? Prices?

thanks much. this is something I gotta get moving on.

wow, now I'm drowning....:censored:

if anyone knows which of these wins the Strength test, let me know. I have heard anecdotally that the OEM rack is easy to break if you have a few pounds on it then ride in rough territory.

thx S'dog!!

I recommend purchasing a tig welder and learning to weld if at all possible. I do agree the aftermarket racks are expensive for what you get.

I've never seen such a comprehensive list of racks before:thumbsup: :censored:

HOWEVER, there is a slight chance that you might have missed one very nice....big......well priced rack in your list. :applause:

............but if it's in there, I do apologize IN ADVANCE :ride:

I built this one for my E, I no longer use it and I'm cleaning out the garage so it's for sale. PM me if interested.

I bought an E model rack off ebay for less than $100. Looks and works great.

His ebay name is sr8dirt, email is nomadicracks at yahoo dot com, is out of El Cajon CA, and his name is Justin Niemeyer. He makes both S and E model racks so be careful to get the E model rack if you have an E model. The rack took about 10 minutes to install.

Those are killer racks. I have more than one and I can't say enough positive things about the quality and durability of the racks.
