Dry break in procedure

Recommended Posts

I know it's been discussed a million times on every Motorcycle/ATV/Snowmobile/Automobile message board but I want to hear from people who've actually done it.

Notice any more power?

Have any problems? I was talking to my father about it and he said it sounds like it'd make the motor seize..but I know alot of people have done it.

I did it on my wifes' CRF250 because everybody said it makes the rings seat better. It worked on her bike as it was burning oil prior to the rebuild and afterwards it didn't burn any more oil. The 2 stroke is a bit different as was stated your fuel will oil it up. But initially it will be dry. I've always put 2 stroke oil on the cylinder walls at re-assembly, it just makes me feel better.
