HELP...am I losing my mind

Over the winter I rebuilt my 95 XR250 and I just finishing up and installing the left side cover. I seem to remember a cover that went over the airbox, but I can't find it in my garage.

Is there a cover that goes over the airbox and under the sideplate, or am I imagining things and the airbox is covered up just by the sideplate.

On my 90 model XR250 there is an airbox cover that fits under the sidelpate

There is a cover but you don't need it. I have been riding without it for 4 years. The side cover seats nicely into the airbox.

My '87 XR250 doesn't have one - the Dzus fasteners go straight through the side panel, although the pictures in my Haynes maual show a cover on '96 or later models' .

Likewise I've never had trouble without (touch wood), but have never submerged it (yet).

I bought a '95 brand new, it had no cover other than the side plate.

My 90 has a cover under the plate...maybe it was dropped between then and 92??

i have a 95 XR250R. it has a airbox cover but i don't use it
