clutch lever distance; can I shorten it for the girlfriend?

Recommended Posts

My girlfriend had a 06 ttr125le and she is only 5' tall so she has trouble grabbing the clutch and has to stretch her thumb pretty far to get her fingers out far enough. Can this be changed with a different perch or can I simply bend the lever in more but make sure not to do it to far so that the clutch doesn;t disengage when pulled in completey?

ASV levers have a set screw for both the clutch and front brake. Plus they are spring loaded so they bend to avoid breaking when she tips it over. Adjusting the screw will let you bring them closer to the grips.

For my son's CRF150F, I bought a tap and drilled/tapped the perch for a 6mm bolt/nut to adjust the distance. The way it's set now, the clutch engages pretty much right off the grip which, to me, makes it easier for a newbie to learn to ride (i.e, no more long waits and sudden dumps of the clutch lever :applause: ).
