the easiest compatible ones ive found used are from a 2000-2002 YZ426 or WR426.

and they go usually from $175 to $250.

OK, I think I'm getting closer to making the plunge. By 'removable bell' you are talking about the rear of the carb eh? So, the pic with the black rear that looks like it bolts on is the removable bell one, and the other pic where it appears to be formed right onto the carb is the non removable bell... Is this correct? What else do you need to look for?

look also for the enclosed accelerator pump shaft. the earlier FCR's had an exposed shaft and i do not believe they were fcr-MX carbs. i think on the YZF's from 1998-1999
