ok, so ive been researching about swapping dirt wheels to the SM and put together a list of part #'s from suzuki for anyone who might be interested.

i did find that none of the RM part #'s matched those on the SM as far as brake components go. so im not sure about using the RM rotor...but i remember someone saying that it works. (on the rear)

You can use your stock rear caliper with the caliper carrier from an RM. That will allow you to use the RM rotor which is a larger diameter. The RM rotor will bolt on to the DRZ hub.

the front rotor for the SM will bolt right up to the hubs of any of the others, as well as the speedo drive.

also, i assumed all 2005 yr bikes. but they pretty much are the same since 2000 or so.

Thanks, that is great I am in the process of waiting for my SM wheels to show up on my door step for my s to sm swap. I still need all the extra's rotors, Speedo gear ect. This info will help much appreciated.

that info would have been helpful back in September when i first started to order all the parts for my sm wheels and finished ordering parts for them in late October

Have you guys priced the pieces yet?.............

from the stealers your looking at BIG bucks, not to mention sprockets, tubes, tires......

even if you ordered all of these parts from say the OEM Thumpertalk store you will still be behind in Cash, plus lacing and truing the wheels to boot.

If your going to buy New, IMO just pick up a set of RAD Manf. wheel combos. Or a excel talon combo set up, both will be cheaper then OEM...... all you guys have to do is call the TT store and they will hook you up with the right set up.......trust me, been there done that

the purpose of the post was for compatibilty. not pricing. that way if someone wanted to put together a set of used wheels, there wouldnt be any doubt on what works.

but ya, theres NO way i'd buy direct or new to make it work.
