It says that I MUST use EBC pads...well I got tusk off road pads...is that ok?

It looked zinc coated or something, not aluminum/silver whatever...is that ok?

Without any experience just opinion, I'd say you are fine using other pads. They are probably only saying that because that is all they tested it with, and is guaranteed to work with their pads. They also want you to buy their pads.

If your wrong, you will either have poor braking, or accelerated pad/rotor decay. Might as well give the pads you have a try, I doubt they will cause any big damage.

That coloring you see is just an anodizing they treat the rotor with for corrosion prevention. I wouldn't think that EBC pads are the ONLY pads you can run with it. That rotor is listed as a heat treated carbon steel rotor. I would think you could run the pad/material of your choice with it.

I see nothing on EBCs site that says you have to use a specific pad with it.

rockymountain says that any pads will work with them

I have found RockyMountain to have excellent customer service. To be fair, DennisKirk also is as good and have been around a long time.
