I have a 06 YZ 125. I'm looking for advice on sprockets and chain. I'm going to buy some new ones.

what type will work best, what is everyone using?

any help at all would be great.

are you asking for MX or Offroad?

MX, you want light weight.

Offroad, you want heavy duty.

I use Primary Drive chains and sprockets. (Non o-ring on my 125, o-ring on my 400) I use their steel sprockets, since the added performance of an aluminum sprocket isn't worth giving up the durability of a steel sprocket.

Cheap, and I get a whole season out of them.

As far as gearing, I play around with it alot on my 125. Right now I have 12/49 on it, but I am going back to 13/50 which is what I ran last year.

I use Oring chains for my bike, they last a hell of a lot longer. People say that orings 'rob power'. But how the hell can an oring chain cost you first place? They're more expensive but you won't be buying 2 per year. I'd go with Renthal aluminum sprockets too. A 125 will not ruin it fast, like if it was on a 250 2 stroke or 450.

it depends on what you want...

If you want more speed, Go up on front or down on rear

If you want more acceleration, Go down on front or up on rear
