Scotts dampener mounting?

Recommended Posts

i have a xr400 and have been looking at the scotts steering dampener but i got a problem. i have thumper racing's bar risers that move the bars foward as well as up. from what i unerstand about the mounts, it that with this i can't mount the dampener on the bar mounts, am I right? also i don't really want to do the front mount bcause i am afraid i would rip it off in the woods. any opinions?

thanks

I have one on my '01 XR400. It has the front mount clamp and works great.

It has made riding in the desert sand and rocks much easier.

There are several ways to mount the Scott's dampener.

Look at the Submount system, which puts the dampener under the bars.

I will be mounting one on my XR400 soon. I have the older, oil stick mount.

actually.... if Scotts says on its web site that it dampens, then it could also be called a dampener. But wether you call it damper, dampener or stabilizer, I have one I would sell. Had one on my XR400, bought a CRF250X with one already on. So I will sell one and just swap the other between the 2 bikes. Send me a PM if you are interested.
