Bike dying on me at idle...

Recommended Posts

ok, i had the stupid idea to wash my bike the other day even though it was -4C out. anyways, took it just down the street so I could wash it at the coin wash and then put a cover on it.

i only used the low pressure spray and washed it as i normally did...but...everything froze up including the tires :applause: had to ride around in the parking lot for a bit to get the ice off my rotors and calipers before heading home. it rode ok for a bit but when I got to a stoplight, it wouldn't idle...had to keep giving it gas to keep it running.

the bike only has 3000km on it...could the ice have messed something up? its never given me a hint of trouble before so I'm hoping it was just because of the all the water and the freezing temps...

You might of gotten water in a carb vent that subsequently froze. Allow to thaw.

You might of gotten some water in the carb float bowel, try draining it and re-test.

I am sure it is a small issue and may well melt away....
