Clutch Problem? Please Help!!!

Recommended Posts

Ok I have a 2002 CRF450R and when my bike is in gear and I pull in the clutch to try and move it the rear wheel drags as if it is still in gear I can even hear it start to turn over! The bike works just great, but to start it I have to put it into nuetral. I reaplaced the clutch cable, have it adjusted properly, any ideas what it may be and how to fix it?

thanks

Zog,

It's very typical to have some drag when the bike is not running and put into gear and pushed (with clutch pulled in). Especially cold when the transmission oil is thick. The drag should be significantly less when the bike is warmed up. That said, since you said it's an '02, wear of several clutch components will make this much more evident. Grooving of the basket and inner hub are the first things to check. Do a search here on TT using "basket" or "clutch" and you'll no doubt find at least an hour's worth of reading and you'll be educated about this. Hope this helps
