Cam Chain Tesioner?????

Recommended Posts

Is the manual correct when its says to torque the cam chain tensioner mounting

bolt to 87ft lbs. Just seems really tight, im a first timer and i don't want to break anything.

Oh yea, stupid question number two is: do you convert inch lbs by dividing by

12 it makes sense to me but i could be wrong.

well i just broke one of the bolts. Luckily it came right out. That cant be right unless my bolt is just weak. I'll wait before i move on.

87 in lbs, my book has the same error in it.

if you are doing your cams make sure to use 87 in lbs for the cam retainer bolts also, some specs are wrong. You will ruin you head if they are over torqued.

yes you divide by 12 to convert ft lbs to in lbs.
