Chocolate milk for oil?

Hello! Ive been riding in some cold conditions here in Norway lately, -20 degrees celsius. As I changed the oil it came out looking like chocolate milk.. Not good! It doesent look like its a lot of water in it, but still. So I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this problem. As far as I can see, the colant level is constant. So if its not possible that water vapor through the breathinghose can cause this, I guess i have a problem with one or more gaskets..

Sounds like you are getting coolant mixing with your oil, maybe a bad head gasket or warped hear......

If its not water you sure are hard on the clutch. When I'd change the bottom-end oil on my old TRX250R it would look like metalic chocolate milk and it was all clutch dust.

It had been rebuild, and i guess it has about 30 hours on it. The oil was great during Christmas, but the two latest changes gave chocolate milk.

Ridingconditions in january and february have been -10 - -20 degrees C and a lot of short rides(school, friends and work) so i guess its good conditions for waterwapour to get inn through the breatherhose.

Yesterday i changed the oil again. And I ran the breather hose into he air filter so the carb will get air also from the breather hose. This had been done from the factory on my other bikes.

And also.. since its a lot of stop and go driving in traffic I guess I`m using a lot of clutch..

Going to check up on my oil during this week and let u know what i find out!

sounds like a head gasket...have you been overly hard on the bike? ...I know that's a loaded question, but you know what I mean...

Hmmm.. Guessing it is the head gasket.. Is it possible that I just need to tighten the screws one more time or should I change the gaskets.. The gaskets was new 30 hours ago..

it's cause by condensation, your riding in extreme cold and when you shut down the motor water condensation is forming, it is particually bad when you are only doing short rides.

Change your oil more often.

x2. Go for a couple of long rides and it may even clear up. Short trips at -20 C is going to produce condensation and the conditions you describe.

this is my third bike. Non of the other two bikes had this problem.. Thats why I`m concerned. Maybe the drysump is the problem, since the oil dont get hot during a 30 minute run!
