complete aftermarket shock?

Recommended Posts

Progressive shows one on their website...420 series I believe.

Search the above link for your year, but they do show something for mine (2001 model). For the KLR's they offer the same shock in an HD (heavy duty application).

A new shock will be about the same cost as a respring/revalve job on the stock DR unit - $460. But if the valving isn't what you want on the new unit, you have to pay someone to adjust it. However, if you buy a new one, you can (maybe) sell the stocker for a few bucks. The real question would be - which one is better?

I bought a Wilbers shock, IIRC its rebound adjustable. They are about $500 or so in Europe (€420). Not mounted yet but it is supposed to be very good.

You can also get them fully adjustable etc. I posted the info on Advrider and on here as all I think.
