where are you guys getting ur sprockets???

I have an 07' SMR510 and finding it a bitch to get sprockets....Sprocket specialists claim they have no sprockets that will work for my bike until someone sends them the stock one to make a copy of... I went to my dealer who sells huskys and they searched and searched there entire catalog and called around and all they found was an AFAM 41t rear...

i cant find crap online, alot of the sprocket companies dont even list husqvarna in there catalog...

Stock is 14/42 and i need to lower the revs on the street just a tad, maybe like a 40t...having hard time finding stuff for my SMR, anyone got links or know where to get a steel 40T rear please help me out

Call Dan at Motoexotica as you are in Cali.

check this place on ebay, I believe they have rears down to 39T.

Also, I'm sure some of the major dealers like Hall's or GP would have something in stock or know where to get it quick.

ya i seen those...but wasnt sure i wanted to buy..they are billet aluminum and not quite sure how well they will hold up...all the renthal sprockets or aluminum sprockets etc ive had suck and wear out too quick

i'll give GP or motoexotica a call..they seem like the only ppl who can get pretty much everything from all the research ive been doin...

Thanks :applause:

My 06 450SMR runs real nice at 70-75 with a 15t front. Most guys with the 15 will swap for a 14, I think some TEs come with it and its useless off road??? You can probably find a lifetime supply of 15s right here, thats how I got mine, 14 was fun around town but too low for highway cruise. 1st & 2nd will still power up the front wheel and the gears get just a bit longer. Jim.

ya i wanted to do change the C/T sprocket over the rear since you can swap it out in like 2 mins....But a few ppl i talked to who have the same bike as me said they tried a 15t and it didnt fit and rubbed...so i was a lil confused

anyone know a part number for a 15t for my bike or have a link who has em online to order...my dealership only carried a 16t for me bike and they take FOREVER when ordering parts

or shoot, anyone wanna trade like the guy did above haha, my sprocket only has like 60mins ride time on it

Dirt Tricks has the Iron Man cogs for the bikes.....Assuming that it's the same as the 05/06 style.

Jeff at Hall's has a good supply. Steny

Ironman (AKA Dirttricks?) for the rear & AFAM for the front, no rubbing with a 15 front, lotta racers even go 16 front, juust have to remove case saver for the 16

I run a 16 on the front when I motard my TE510 with the case saver in place.:applause:

Are you going to ride that 510 this year?

Yeah I hope so, 8 more days till the dreaded knife, hopefully I'll heal quick, but I gotta feelin I won't hit dirt till late summer, I'll stick to local pavement pounding untill I'm given the go ahead from my doc.

Who knows, maybe I'll fly down to sunny CA and ask some Husky brothers to teach me how to ride desert. :applause:

Too bad about the timing as Warren Thaxter does an annual week long ride out of Primm Nevada. It's at the end of March this year. You fly and the bikes go into a semi.

Broken femur from last April, removing broken pins & plate, bone graft etc. etc.long story, but this thread has gone off track. just hoping the anticipated pain goes away quick

P.S. thanx for the info on the ride Dirtybill, I'll have to keep that in mind for the future

Good luck Ruffus! Let us know how it goes.

For sprockets i absolutely swear by the steel Ironman sprockets. Wear forever, and really not much heavier. Dan at Motoxotica gets me 48's, 46 can be ordered.

Up front the AFAM 16 on our desert bikes.

In case any of you haven't heard, or seen the press thing, Motostrano will be getting Quick change sprockets. Not sure if they'll be available for all bikes, but might be worth a look.

What is "Quick Change sprocket"?

My ears have perked.
