What is electrical on an FCR carb?

Recommended Posts

Noticed pictures of the FCR have what looks to be an electrical wire with connector.

What does the electrical part of a carb do?

As said before it's the Throttle Position Sensor.

If you get an FCR 39 from a DRZ400E (and from some other bikes) for your S or SM,

it will plug right in while most of the aftermarket FCRs come without the TPS.

Whichever one works because the TPS has no effect at all on the DRZ :applause:

Thanks for the information.

The thread: "Guess What Came in the Mail Yesterday", has a good photo and the electric wires look like you should be plugging in something important.

The TPS is nice for dataloggers and race recording, though. :applause: Very handy to see where your right-hand ego was at the time.

The new slant body FCR39 I got last year from CPW came without a TPS, or a choke for that matter. Haven't missed either.
