EXC pipe on an XC?

I just joined the pumpkin patch myself by picking up a 06' 450 XC! I gave up the YZ Blue! However, I ride trails like crazy and need a spark arrestor...I have been told that I can simply swap out an EXC pipe and get the same performance...Any thoughts? I did a search but couldn't find anything relating to this topic....Thanks!

i have an 07' 450 xc. just make sure you find an exc muffler from a late model bike. the performance from pipe to pipe is little.
