hey guys i just got a new big gun evo X slip on for my ttr 230 and i read on the big gun site that the full exhaust system adds 3.5 horsepower, will the slip on add the same or a bit less?

Prolly a little less. But 3.5 is a lot.

A 3.5 hp gain on a 13-14 hp bike is fatasy. It will take a lot more than just a pipe. Unless it says something like, "3.5 overall hp gain". But otherwise they are pretty much full of it.

If you read the nameplate specs on your TTR it says something like 14.8 kW which equates to 20 HP. Power delivered to the rear wheel will be less - 90% of max would be about 18hp. However, you ride an uncorked bike with a high performance exhaust, so I bet your back up to at least 20 hp delivered

Ive jetted up like 4 main sizes with the full evo x system,05 TTR230, opened up the airbox and went down 1 tooth on the front and mine fly's, it beats my buddies 01 RM 125 with a 144 big bore kit in a drag race, all kiddin aside. I love it, Its fun in the trails. He takes me a little on take off but mid to top end I pull away from em, the Big Gun head pipe makes a largely noticeable diffrence. But the one tooth down front sprocket makes the biggest diffrence.
