Suspension linkage bearings

Recommended Posts

Stripped down the rear of my new to me 1996 DR650. Planning to clean and lube all suspension linkages. The bearings in the center of the linkage (number 3 in the diagram) were siezed solid. Some kerosene, and a little work with the toothbrush loosened them just before the needles came out in my hand. Unlike the other bearings (2 and 4) the needles are not caged. Can the needles be packed in grease and put back in? Or do I need new ones?

Thanks

Sorry, the pic is kinda big. Let me know if I need to remove it.

it's their condition that matters, if you manage to get them clean and they're not rusted,pitted,bent..e.t.c. then grease 'em up and use them....... if it's obvious they need help.. well, you'll be the one to judge

If they were rusted and siezed, you should replace the whole set. You could try just regreasing them and keeping an eye on them.
