TT Skid plate

Recommended Posts

Does the TT XR4 skid plate come up and cover the oil lines on the right side? Does anyone have a pic of it I'd like to see before I order it. Thanks

I have the TT skid plate on my 97 XR250. Here is a pic of it, it does cover the oil lines for the most part. It was easy to put on, I think 5 bolts with clamps.

TT, Baja Designs, Moose... are all Utah Cycle skid plates.

So pick your favorite store. TT gurantees the lowest price.

I've had one on my 99 XR400 and it has held up well.

Expect more engine noise to be reflected back up to you.

They ring like a snow shovel when the front tire throws up a rock.

That sound is the plate protecting your cases.

When you go to put it on, put on all 4 brackets as loose as possible, then tighten them up. It's a PITA to get them on.

thanks for the tip Kev, that should make it easier to install. Its always better to hear the ring from the skid plate than the thunk from the case on any ride

it's definatly a nice sound to know that it was money well spent! all it needs to do is stop one case puncturing rock and it's paid for itself!
