need advise on compression and rebound settings "new to riding dirtbikes again"

Recommended Posts

have a 1999 YZ125 rebuild the forks, and it has an after market rear shock.

i adjusted the rear preload to use close to 1/3 of my travel when i am sitting on it.

the forks feel plenty good as they are with stock springs "stiff, but not to stiff"

any advise, the ground is mushy cold out by me "28 degrees"and i don't know if its just the frozen ground with medium ripped up corn fields but i feel my suspension might be to stiff?

i am also going to an indoor track this weekend, so any advise i would be thankful from you guys:applause:

Start by adjusting the rear preload to 100mm. This is a good place to start for all full sized bikes. 1/3 of total travel will probably be too much with a small (I presume) indoor track where quick steering is important.

sorry i am not getting the terms you mean.

100mm to what?

also what do you mean 1/3 will be to much? are you saying that its to soft and to stiffen it up?

thanks, and sorry for not getting the terms your implying.
