10w fork oil and two clicks softer on compression?

Recommended Posts

i weight 205 lbs and put 10w fork oil in the fronk forks of my crf450r after getting a leaking seal. i was running the stock settings on compression and rebound ( 8 clicks out ). should i go a few clicks softer on my compression now to compensate for the heavier fork oil? i ride woods 80% of time.

Doesn't heavier weight fluid have more of an effect on rebound?

You'll just have to try it and adjust as needed.

That's because the midvalve flows a lot more oil than the base valve.

The effect of changing oil weights on the base valve is negligible compared to the effect on rebound. The only thing it will really effect on the compression front is the low speed (clicker position).
