on winter riding...

Somewhere on one of these posts I advised a guy to slit the end if his vent hose (valve cover breather hose) so ice woud not accumulate on the end, freeze up and blow out the valve cover gasket.

I should have read my own post, because indeed in icy conditions that baby will freeze over and actually blow out the valve cover gasket spooging oil all over your leg.

One easy fix is to cut the hose and route the discharge to the back of the radiator so the warm air will keep the tube from icing.

Do yourself a favor before you ride in freezing conditions and take care of that. :applause:

GOOD info would of never guessed that re routing it by the rad would prevent this...i would of just re-routed it somewhere else

like the air box...

but then i again i dnt ride in the cold

I think it was me you gave the advice too, when I had the water in oil-problem with the breather..But it`s ok now, winter is on the retreat and my Black/Gold Excels are on againg with the "summer-tires" All is gooood!:applause:
