2000 kx250 question

Recommended Posts

I just bought a 00 kx 250 off a good friend of my dads. He said the top and bottom end have 10hrs on it but I can push the kickstarted down with one hand and it feels like it has about the same compression as my 96rm125. I know he took very good care of this bike and I dont think he would lie. It does start real easy and runs very strong. Im going to do a compression check on it (in the manual it says 117-176psi). Just wondering if its normal if you can push the kickstarter down with one hand?

You should be able to push the kick start by hand, but it should be hard to pass through compression stroke. Just do a compression test and see where your at. If its healthy, it should read around or over 200psi. The manual specs are too low. Both my KX250s have fresh motors and read out at 210psi.
