83 TT600 carb needle position??

Recommended Posts

Does anyone here know the from the factory needle clip position for both the hi and lo speed carb on a TT600 yamaha. All of my books give me the jetting but not the needle position. One of the previous owners decided it would be a good idea to put them both in richest spot possible. If any of you can give me a good jumping off point it would be greatly appreciated.Thank You in advance.

I had my TT600 jetted very well back in the day, and if I recall the needles were basically nonadjustable, but I don't remember for sure. I do recall that I had to richen the pilot jet in the primary carb slightly by boring it out a tad with the next larger size wire gauge drill bit.

Thanks for your input. The needles are adjustable in both carbs I'm just trying to keep from pulling them off abunch of times trying to get it right.I"ll have to see how it runs before I go after the actual jetting since it's running a stock cam and a supertrapp it shouldn't be to difficult.
