High altitude jetting for crf450r's

Recommended Posts

I ride the bike from about 3500 feet up to about 6000 feet, and cannot get the bike to run right. At sea level the bike will scream, like a champ. Anyone have any suggestions?

from the info given all i can tell u is At higher altitudes, the bike runs richer so you must jet leaner. The air is less dense at higher altitudes, so you're essentially getting a smaller volume of air than you do near sea level.

wat is the current jetting and how is it running ....

the jetting is stock now, and it has always worked well at sea level. The problem is on the mountain the bike sputters on deceleration, runs hotter, and stalls easier. I know that it needs to be leaned out a little, I am just not sure where a good starting point would be. With the large gains and drops in elevation I guess I might just have to deal with the jetting issues, but if you have any suggestions let me know.
