DRZ400E steering stem, grease?

I've found that, while I'm away at college and my bike just sits, the steering stem will set up a little (handlebars don't want to turn). How can I grease it? The dirt bike world is new to me, and I can't remember seeing a grease fitting anywhere on there. Thanks a lot!

You must disassemble the triple trees to acess the bearings. Do a search here for postes showing the steps. Better still, get a shop manual from Suzuki

some guys have drilled and tapped a hole in the frame where the triple goes thru and put in a zerk to grease them.

I will post a pic later on of what a low hour stored inside lower bearing looks like.

this is one of the known trouble spots that needs attention no matter what year DRZ your riding....

this stem is outta a low hour E. It showed no signs of roughness while turning and you can see the minimal amount of grease the factory used in assembly on the upper bearing.
