quick question

Recommended Posts

when i put my bike up, i run it with the gas off until it stalls, and my bike sits for about 2-3 weeks between rides, my question is will the fuel line that goes from the petcock to the carb be allright, or will anything else mess up in my carb or anything, and the bike will be ridden more often now that it is starting to warm up, thanks

You don't drain the gas for dry rot, the gas is drained so when it drys up you don't have A residue left in the carb. Running your gas out with motor is good, but one better would be to use the drain screw on the buttom of carb and get all the gas out.

Run it until it stops, then liekGotwheels says, drain the rest with teh drain screw on the float bowl. As for the hoses....I got some 40 y/o Hondas with the stock hoses on them. Don't leak, but the problem comes when they are that old, if you have to take them off or anything, they are very very stiff and inflexible and you are likely to split them if you try to get them off.
