Rear shock service every year??

Recommended Posts

I've got a 2000 KTM LC4e and the owners/shop manual says to service the shock at least every year. This seems excessive but what do I know. Is an annual shock oil change, full service, and nitrogen recharge typical for this kind of bike? If so, should I use a specialized suspension shop or just the local dealer?

Every 20 hours is the norm for suspension service. If you ride less than a racer just kinda guess when the time is up. Wait to long, things get springy and mushy along with wearing the hard coat off the inner surfaces of the shock body. With the hard coat gone things get real springy:cry:

Maybe we need hour meters for the suspension??

Mx-tech.com will do you shock for way less than a dealer and do it correctly.
