Fixing wheel dents/dings

Recommended Posts

Anyone got any suggestions other than to buy a new rim? I have 2 spots on my rear wheel that have small indentions where I most likely hit a big rock when I went woods riding. Tires still hold air and it spins good without being warped but it is a couple noticeable flat spots that I'd like to get out if possible.

My other option is to buy a new rim and just reuse my spokes and lace it up. How hard is this? I've done it on mountain bikes before, I assume it would be same procedures.:bonk:

If the ding is on the edge you can sometimes pound it out with a rubber mallet. Lacing up a wheel is not hard. I just did both of mine, that was the first time ever doing it. I laced them up and then I brought them down to my local shop and they trued them up and tightened all the spokes.
