posting pics !

How do i post pics , at the end of a thread there is no prevision for attachments i use to be able to post pics but for some reason not now help

Hit the image tags button.

It is the yellow one with what looks like a mountian in it.

then it comes up with URL of your image ???? never had this before just had insert image what does this mean ?

Just type out the url of your image or copy and paste the link in there.

You need to host your pics somewhere first, I use "photobucket" as it's free.

Then just insert the URL from P/bucket when prompted.

The only way you can up-load or host pics direct on TT is to become a Team Member.

First thing you'll need is an outside image host. You can't link to images stored on your computer. The best place to look for image hosting is through your ISP. If they offer space, use it... you're already paying for it. If you need a source other than your ISP, use Google to search for it.

Things to remember when uploading (storing) images to your host:

- URLs (the address of your image) are case sensitive. Try to use all lower case letters when creating your file names.

- Do not use spaces or special characters when creating your file names.

- If you need to separate words use only the - or _ characters.

- Be sure to save your images with a .jpg or .gif file extension.

To post an image use the following code (do not use amps - &):

so the url is another name for were you keep your pics ? ive got a few in photo bucket i wanted to post ?

If you log into your account, and look under the pic you want to post, there are 2 or 3 lines/boxes of info.

If you click on the top one, it should say "copied", that is the 'url' that you paste into the insert picture box on TT.

think ive got it neil , there should be a post of the sump guard some were but it has some other pics of my bike , ok so i need to single out 1 pic thionk ive got it now ,

Actually you can just copy and paste the third link into your message e.g. the one that starts with .... All the thumpertalk (vbulletin) image link icon is doing is injecting those tags into your URL.

upload the pic from your hard drive to your garage. right click on the pic once its in your garage. scroll down to properties and copy the url. go to the reply window and hit the image button (mountain). Paste that into the line (it will already be highlighted).

viola, pics appear in post (as long as you keep them in your garage)
