'05 SM non-CA JD Jetting

Recommended Posts

I just received my JD kit from TT and I'm about to install. I noticed the label on the box says DRZ400S/SM/E Calif., mine however is non-CA. Is there a difference?

Also the FAQ's in the DR section say to use the 150 main, the included directions say use 155 main.

I will be riding mostly between 0-4000ft at temps between 40 and 90 deg f stock exhaust, is the following correct?:

3x3 hole

155 main

25 pilot

red needle clip in 3rd position

Thanks Eddie, but I'm not there yet...

To recap, I started here:

sea level

3x3 hole

155 main

25 pilot

red needle clip in 3rd position

zipty FMS02 extended screw

Mixture screw adjusted all the way in with no change so I put back the stock pilot (22.5) still no idle change when the screw is bottomed. Its closer as I get no idle change when create a vacuum leak.

So it would seem a smaller pilot is in order but I noticed by looking at the jetting database no one has had to use a smaller one, what gives??

Is the dealer the only place to go for a smaller pilot?? TIA

I forgot I have a few more questions. Does anyone make a float bowl with an acces hole so I can easily change my main for altitude changes? Has anyone tried dilling and tapping the stock bowl with good luck? Thanks again.
