FMF Pipe

Recommended Posts

Installed my FMF pipe, chain roller & DRZ light that I got from Jesse this morning.

Quick question: I assume that the billet spacer goes in-between the 2 pinch tabs of the bracket that hold the muffler, correct? No mention in the instructions- you can tell you are getting older when you actually look at them!

Also, the bracket fits around the muffler, but does not conform that well to the muffler on the back side (facing frame)- I don't see a problem, though. Seems like it's not going anywhere.

Need to pick up hi-temp RTV and put some around the joint- seems like those tubes always dry up on me. I did remove the factory lead (?) gasket, which I would like to have reused.

I also found it strange (to me, anyway) that the FMF pipe fits INSIDE the factory pipe- I would have thought that for the benefit of airflow you would have wanted it to go on the OUTSIDE of the pipe- seems like that would be a smoother flow.

Pipe looks good, though, as does the smaller tailight.
