Are r-304's loud?

I am looking at buying a silencer for my 06 yz250. Noise is a bit of an issue.

What is the loudest of the two : Shorty? R-304?

i would think FMF shorty, damn things make my ears hurt!!! i can't image that the R-304 could be much louder??

i have a r304 shorty on my 85 and it gave me more time in 2nd-3rd. who cares if they are loud.....i like like people being deaf when i fly pass them.

The shorties are a bit louder on a 250, but not too bad. Nothing like a 4 stroke.

The longer 304 is quiet and gives great power.

shorty (ies), FMF or pro-circuit, gives better throttle response and better low-end power because they lessen the back pressure running inside the pipe; the longer the pipe the greater the amount of back pressure...

there will be small amounts of power loss at the top-end of the rpm though...

An FMF combo Rev pipe and Shorty for a 125...plus a VF 3 is awesome!

Repack your stock should be quieter then the shorty or 304 if your trying tokeep quiet for the neighbors.But sometimes you can't please everyone , i heard people were getting mad at mountain bikers because they would come up and pass people walking on trails and the people were complaining that they did'nt hear them coming.I thought thats what they wanted no noise???
