Need help CRF 50 will only run on full choke

Recommended Posts

Ok,

This is a weird one. Brand new crf 50 2007.

Mods include:

Removed stock airbox:

Punched some holes in the spark arrestor.

GYTR air filter.

Ran fine after that, fooled around with the fuel screw(or whatever they call that on the 07's). Running good.

I go to put on the training wheels for the little guy and shut off the fuel and stand it upright on the rear wheel with the gas turned off and the remaining gas must have run out of the bowl, back through the air filter and dripped blue crap all over, from the air filter oil. No big deal right.

I fining the job, set it back down and wipe off any remaining blue crap and go to start it and it will only run on full choke. HMMMMM

So I take off the filter and the carb and blow everything out with cleaner and then air. Remove the float, give it a thorough cleaning. Put it back together and fires right up on full choke and dies again when not on full choke.

Maybe I hit the fuel screw, several adjustment, same thing. I am at a loss.

Any ideas, please, do it for the kids sake, argggggh.

Eric

Check for air leaks in your intake, most of the time it will cause your throttle to "hang". But you never know, just somthing else to try.

got it figured out.

Not enough gas in the tank to run on "ON". Sounded like it, oooooops.

Thanks for the responses.
